Friends of Riverside Park Houston
We were proud to help launch Friends of Riverside Park Houston, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to making our park an even better green space for everyone to enjoy.
In 2025, the organization received a $25,000 grant from the Houston Equity Fund to support its work in the park.
Since 2019, the group has held an annual mini rodeo, holiday children's events, movie nights, voter registration drives, beautification projects, and more. Most of the funding has come from private donations and local businesses.
The group is working with the Houston Parks Department on a master plan to improve the green space, playground equipment, and other amenities — and to add an actual walking and running trail.
